Jami Tobey


Jami Tobey is a Southern California painter who has become well known for her impressionist and intricate landscapes. Using layers of acrylics, watercolor and ink, Jami’s paintings have depth and color that have made them a hit in the galleries she shows at throughout the country.

As the daughter of renowned Southwest Sculptor, Gene Tobey, Jami grew up working along side her dad in his studio in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She sites her father as her best teacher, and the motivator in continuing working, changing, and growing as an artist. Jami also credits her mom for her insight and creativity. Currently Jami shows at Adagio Galleries in Palm Springs, Forms Gallery in DelRey Beach, Florida, Old Town Art Gallery in Park City, Utah, Raindance Gallery, Durango, CO.

Aside from gallery openings, Jami had done numerous shows in the past year, including the San Diego Art Walk, Painted Earth, and was the guest artist at Sandstone Gallery in Laguna Beach for the summer 2005 season.

Jami works in acrylic, watercolor, and pen & ink. She paints on clayboard, canvas, and paper. Her paintings range from 5” x 6” to 4' x 6'. Jami can be reached at
